If you know me at all you know I am an AVID Fallout series fan. I was roped in with Fallout 3 way back in 2008 and have been hooked ever since.
Finally, the Fallout-verse is coming to tv, thanks to Amazon Prime Studios. Set to debut on April 12, 2024, the hype train is just starting to roll, thank God!
We’ve seen teasers, hints, pictures here and there, but yesterday the first trailer for the show was released. Let me tell you, my goosebumps had goosebumps!
Did you see it? Power armor? Multiple protagonist POV’s? A FRIGGIN’ YAOGUAI?! Let me list the things I’m excited about!

Multiple Protagonist POV’s
It looks like we’ll see the Fallout world through the eyes of (at least) 3 main characters: Lucy from Vault 33, Maximus from the Brotherhood of Steel, and a Ghoul from before the war.
Lucy
Lucy (Ella Purnell) is a vault dweller of Vault 33 in what was once Los Angeles. She has spent her entire life underground. Her father, Hank, is the overseer of Vault 33. She also has a brother named Norm. She is sent to the surface on a rescue mission.
Lucy is described as being kind, charming, plucky and strong. However, she has also lived a privileged life without needing to deal with the roughness of the wasteland. She is also said to be naive due to her upbringing.
Maximus
Maximus (Aaron Moten) is a squire in the Brotherhood of Steel in the Fallout TV series.
He is described as a wannabe soldier who grew up above ground but, like Lucy, was also raised in a cloistered “family” of sorts: the Brotherhood of Steel.
The Ghoul
The Ghoul, real name Cooper Howard, is one of the main characters in the Fallout TV series.
Cooper Howard was alive before the Great War and has lived for over 200 years. He was the lead actor of The Man from Deadhorse western film series. He was a father and husband and was with his daughter during the start of the Great War.
In his post-War life, Howard became known as The Ghoul and is currently a bounty hunter in 2296. He has a code of honor, but also a ruthless streak.

Plot
Fallout is set in 2296, 219 years after the Great War. Lucy, a resident of Vault 33 located in the ruined city of Los Angeles, has spent her entire life underground and is sent to the surface on a rescue mission. As she becomes accustomed to the dangers of the wasteland, she encounters other characters including Maximus, a squire in the Brotherhood of Steel, as well as The Ghoul, a ghoulified bounty hunter.
Other known details about the series include Philly, a junkyard-like settlement in the greater Los Angeles area; the Caswennan, an airship built and used by the Brotherhood; as well as Vault-Tec Corporation mascot Vault Boy being given a backstory.
According to Todd Howard, the events of the Fallout TV series are considered part of the official Fallout canon, as he states, “We view what’s happening in the show as canon.” Bethesda Softworks has had some amount of oversight to ensure that the scripts fit within the existing world of Fallout and the series’ previous titles.
